Power for Cockpit Seats

In removing my old seats and installing 3/8" plywood on the original subfloor, I got a very close look at the Foretravel wiring. For the cockpit seats, they provided a red and a green wire, partially covered with a split coil. Both sets of wires are very long. They run from the wire run to the bottom area of the seats. They connect to the seats with a two-wire connector.
 
Since the seats are mounted through the floor, they will not normally move from that location. The wires are much, much longer than they need to be. I would like to trim them to a more realistic length and enclose them in cable sleeves and/or heat shrink tubing.

Does anyone see a problem with doing this?

Extra wire allows you to rotate them 90 degrees or more which is possible.

Where is this wire run?  I am looking for 120V along the curb side window  for my TV, for the old  88 ORED GV.  I see a socket behind the door on the little shelf but not anything further forward.  Thanks for any tips.

I have relocated both seat power runs underneath the chassis & up through the floor, and trimmed the length of both.  No issues.  I don't see any issue with what you have proposed.  I have re-routed or eliminated all (yes ALL) interior wiring along the passenger side wall chase and the drivers side wall chase along the drivers wall in my 2000 U320.  You should see the rats nest of wires I have removed from the overhead cabinets.

Power seats are 12 VDC, not 120 VAC.

But, with just a little care to avoid the metal beams (use a strong magnet to locate) you can come up from the basement with 120 VDC wiring.

 Thanks, I dont see any 120 wires near the window.    Just tiled  the front section  but will shoot a hole to the basement there eventually.  There is a 120 run across the nose cap that feeds the TV and a roll of wires in the RF upper cabinet . Wonder if it can be run down the floor .
