Valence Removal
I did a search, and came up empty handed, as to just how to remove the Valences, particularly the one above the Passenger Side Window. The Day Night Curtain needs replaced, along with another one, next to the Table area Passenger side! Anyway, I took as many screws as I could see (3) and No Budge! The Valences themselves are still in there very tight! There has to be a way they come out, but just how? By sheer luck, I had purchased some New Old Stock, a couple of years ago, to eventually upgrade another RV with Day/Nights, and never got the 'Round Tuit, so had the same size replacements, already available!
That same window was broken, so I ordered a replacement from VisioneRV, RV Salvage out of Kentucky. They seem to have a few FT's in their yard, and claim 950+ Motorhomes all together. It could have been me, but their customer service was lacking in my ordeal, dealing with them, but They did ship a Window at a reasonable price! $224.00 Total charge! I had a quote from Motion, which has the Raised Slider, that I don't think I'd like at all, and they wanted $439.00 +100 + - for their new window! Their Total to replace ALL windows to upgrade to Double Pane was $4,461.00. I'd have to spend quite a lot on Heating and Cooling the coach to justify that cost! I now have Single Pane which was a One Model Year design, then they changed OEM Supplier in '96! The same sizes though? The Company that made my Windows are out of Business BTW, according to Motion. I have yet to get a reply from VisioneRV on Full Dual Pane replacement from their salvage yard! That's been at least 3 weeks now! I think they forget about you, unless you hound them......again, maybe it was me? Both Email, and Lack of Answering their calls, or even returning them, seemed a daunting task for them? Motion, on the other hand, sure were a breath of fresh air, very responsive, and IF I do need replacement, that can take a while, as they were 3 months out, after the order to receive them! They do seem like an Outstanding Product, I will give them that!
Motion said they use an adhesive tape product that surpasses any rope caulk sealant on the outside rim, and may order that, or if someone knows of the product they use, maybe another source, perhaps, as they do seem a bit salty?
