Genset Exhaust Gasket

Does anyone have a generic part number for the genset exhaust flange gasket (the one where the exhaust pipe connects to the flexible pipe leading to the muffler) on a Power Tech 10KW?

If it's a flat gasket, you can make/cut your own

The exhaust gasket material will run about $14.00 for 10" X 10".  I should be able to match one up at a local parts store for $5.00.
I say "should" because nowadays they can't even talk to you without knowing what kind of car.

Rbark is 100% right, you will need a high temp gasket with either metal on the outside (both sides) or in the middle.  The type with metal (perforated) sandwiched in the middle is preferred as the softer material will seal at lower bolt loads than metal.  The reason for the metal is even though it will be between bolted flanges there is still movement.  The preferred method would be to take the flange or a pattern to a gasket shop in your town or close by and get one made. Should not be any thicker than 1/16" (check the condition of the flange, for warpage or extensive pitting).  The gasket shop probably will not even charge you for it as it will only take a minute to make.  If you want call me and I can answer any questions you may have.  Have had 20 years owning a gasket and mechanical manufacturing company.

Some of the old time auto parts shops have a rack with hooks and exhaust gaskets hanging on them. I would make a cardboard template up and take it in and see if they can match it up. Mine is 1 1/2 pipe O.D.

Update.

Apparently the gasket is only available from FT as per Powertech and I have been unable to locate a generic replacement,
so I now have a call in to FT.

Bill, I saw that too, but the guy that spoke with me said they sell nothing that's not pictured in the drawings.

Anyway, FT has them for $2.34 each.  I bought two of them (one for insurance) and they're coming in a standard envelope
for .50 at my request.  I hoping both don't get broken so I'll at least have one good one when they arrive.  If I have an extra someone here can have it.
