Date stamp on new tires

Been pricing new tires for the Phenix and latest date of mfg I can locate were made the last week of June of this year. Where would you draw the line on the manufacture date for new tires? Is a four month old tire acceptable?

They're not like pancakes: still warm. Gotta give the manufacturer time to produce, wholesale, load, ship, receive, inventory, etc. Lots of steps that would make a 4 month old tire a bargain. I'd jump on them if the price is right.

IIRC, if these are 275/80R22.5, Michelin doesn't run production continuously for this size.  They tend to batch production on it as needed around the high motorhome demand times.
