Where is the noise coming from?

My track started rattling as I hit the bumps .. just started on the trip back home yesterday . You should hear a thunk sound as the pins set

I recently went through this.  The pins sit in a receiver and will bang around in it making the nasty grating noise.  With the slide out, you can poke your finger into the receivers (two on top and two on bottom of the slide) and feel a rubber sleeve (bushing) that prevents this from happening.  In my case, the lower ones had disintegrated and had mostly fallen out.  I used a screw driver to dig out the remainder.  On the top, I could feel the sleeves that seemed intact, but had hardened.  I used a small tool that resembled an awl with a right angle to it that I bought at Harbor Freight for a few dollars (came as a set with orange handles), to dig it out.  The bushings crumbled and I ended up using tweezers and my air compressor to blow out the debris.
The only source I could find for the bushings was FT.  They cost $18 each (need 4).  Very easy to install:  Push in so that it is at least flush and the first time you retract the slide, the pins will seat them.  Good luck

Fred, start with the easy stuff,  a little lube helps most of the time. We have the same slide in our 2001.
