How to turn off HWH

I still have some mystery issues with my aux air compressor. Some of you know I had an extensive thread about it " short cycling " and I have added an "on/off" switch and a gauge at the compressor, as advised. I didn't really do anything else, other than bleed the front tanks, before we took off, last week. I was told, by Wayne at OTM, that I could turn off the HWH system when the coach was level, and it should hold for a while. I pressed "OFF" on the control pad. I STILL hear a compressor cycling and releasing air about every 30 minutes. So...what am I missing here?  I am not complaining. Just need to understand how things work. Guess I'll learn a lot at Quartzite....I hope. Merry Christmas

The HWH leveling system is separate from the slide bladder system if you have a slide. I have had the leveling system off for 2 months now and am still level with air in the low end bags.

air bladder for slide out still in system when HWH off - controlled by same computer - but bladder stays on even when leveling system is off.....

Are you absolutely sure you don't have a slide bladder leak?  Listen closely at the bottom of the slot in the slide out (bottom middle) for air and feel around that area.  Spray it with bubble solution.

The most common bladder leaks are at the bottom slot.  With the frequency of your compressor running, this would match a bladder leak.

To what or where is the on/off switch connected?  When my switch (that I added) is off the compressor does not run.

I added the switch at the aux compressor and can easily turn it off. I was just wondering why the system still adjusted itself, even with the "off " button pressed and no lights lit on the control panel. I'll turn off the aux, if it bothers us or our neighbors.

If you turn the level system off then the control system will not try to adjust for out of level.  If the compressor has power and the pressure control switch  sees pressure below its on set point the compressor will run.  (Clould be due to a leak) You either have to add a switch to disable the pressure control switch or power to the pump itself.  You can get a replacement pressure control switch with an off/on/auto switch.  Normally it is in auto.  The on position it turns on the compressor.  Off disables the compressor.

Glenn, to turn the leveling system OFF, the ignition system must be ON. Then press the Emergency OFF button on the control pad. If you have the switch you installed OFF also, think that will stop the compressor cycling.
Let us know.

Dick and Glenn,

The HWH leveling system, the control pad and the compressor are different between the 2001 and 2003.  Glenn, have you got the appropriate electrical and plumbing diagrams for yours?
