Gen brushes

Have the Isuzu 8.0 generator,will be putting new brushes in and bearing,no problems but have gen out to redo the box,anyone
notice any improvement/steadier running after new brushes?

Mine is running good,but just curious if anyone noticed any difference that they could tell after new brushes.

I cleaned the slip rings and installed new brushes, there was no difference.

New brushes won't affect the running of the machine.  The brushes just pick up the power as it is generated.  The brushes in an alternator  don't wear as like the ones in a generator.  (AC alternator vs DC generator).  Could improve your output  power if there was a lot of corrosion on brushes and slip rings.    Have a great day  ----  Fritz

Might consider relocating the generator control box to side compartment, the vibration tends to shake that stuff to failure.  Seems like FT sold a kit for this purpose with a new harness,
