Air brake test

Someone had asked me about the daily air brake tests we used to do on our fire engines which use similar (Meritor) brakes.  I do this prior to every trip, but found it was a lot  easier to perform when I was on a level concrete surface.

This is a pretty good link:

Remember to use wheel chocks!  The alternative is to have a pro do this for your, but I want to have peace of mind knowing that there were no short cuts taken.

It is really helpful to have an inspection mirror to check your brake pads, unless you plan to remove your wheels.
