Bed Latch At Foot Of Bed

Does anyone have a replacement part number for the latch at the foot of the bed?
Tried searching the forum and came up empty.

I think they are just window sash latches.

I don't think that will work.  It's not going to keep the bed from being pushed up.  Thanks anyway.

John,

Don't know where FOT sourced our bed latch - haven't ever seen one like it.  But like nitehawk just said, most any kind of surface mount sliding bolt will work.  My original latch still works, but one side of the platform was not laying flush, so I added a second bolt on that side.  Something like the one below.  Get one that has 2 or 3 mounting brackets.  I have to push down on the platform to get it slid over in the locked position, and then it is held in place by the tension.  Works great!

Think I read here or somewhere else, that it is possible to sneak into the coach from the engine compartment.

Craneman, that looks like it.  Will have to check it out.  If it's not the one we will put slide bolts.
Thanks everyone for the help and ideas.

I've used the slide "bolts" on doors, but don't see how they could prevent the bed from raising.  The window latches look like a sure thing.

Looking to use a latch like this one.  Will use one close to each corner at the foot of the bed.

Can use bed access if locked out IF the engine door is unlocked...
May be a good idea to hide the engine door lock key and leave bed access unlatched for "that" day when the front door will not unlock.

Ours did not latch and I left it that way in case I needed to get in if the entry door would not open.

I think the DW and I are too "fluffy" to get in thru the engine compartment. Or is it we are not flexible enough to make the contortions necessary?

I've used the slide "bolts" on doors, but don't see how they could prevent the bed from raising.
On our mattress platform, we have the "moveable" part that lifts up, and the "fixed" frame part.  I just mounted the sliding bolt to the "moveable" part.  When it is moved to the "locked" position, it overlaps the "fixed" part of the bed frame, and holds the platform down.

The brass bolt in the photo below is the one I added.  The silver latch is the one that was on the bed when we got the coach.  I had to move it over to get a fresh "bite" on the wood frame.  Added a metal plate to keep from chewing a hole in the wood.  This latch is obviously different from the brass rotating ones (being discussed above) found on the newer coaches.

The plywood platform sheet our mattress rests on was warped up at the foot of the bed, on the driver's side. I mounted the deadbolt
on the underside of the plywood and just push down on the sheet until I can slide the deadbolt over under the fixed plywood sheet that extends the same distance as the other plywood sheet that lifts. Now no fumes or hot air or nuthin' gets in.

SOUTHCO Makes a lot of the latches, catches, hinges, etc used by coach manufacturers. Sometimes it can be hard to find exactly what you are looking for by browsing their online catalog. They will send you a complete catalog if you ask. On my coach, I replaced the latches that hold down the engine cover  in bedroom. Here is a link to their website
