FMCA tire program question

1998 U-320 36' M11 Celect Plus engine.

Looking to replace our tires and I've never used the FMCA program before.  I looked at FMCA's website and haven't been able to find a good overview of the steps one goes through when using this program.

Can anybody share how this process works, how do I start the process, and what's involved?

Don't know about any other folks experience, but I just asked my tire dealer if they knew or worked with FMCA and the answer was yes. They took care of everything for us.

That's the way it worked for me also. Find a tire shop and ask them if they honor the FMCA tire program. If they do they will walk you through the steps. Very easy

You are buying the tires if using Michelin's ,for example,  directly from Michelin itself as a commercial customer.

At least that's how Michelin does this.

Thanks for the replies.

Once you login to the FMCA site you get a "How It Works" button on the FMCA tire program website.  This explains all the steps for both the Michelin and Continental programs.

Once you login, you can go to "get a quote" and it will bring up tire sizes and actual prices. Of course fet and local taxes and installation are extra.

Make sure to shop around tire prices against FMCA. My local tire dealer can beat their prices because they have set prices for things like mount and balance and such.

The FMCA prices are for the tires.  The mount, balance, etc charges that the dealer does is up to them and you pay them directly for that.  At least that is what it was two years ago when I got mine.  But it still pays to shop for total price.  You might find a better deal.

Has not changed with Michelin, they make their money some way, which is fine with me.  ^.^d

The FMCA quote price for Continental included the FET.

Could be different for Continentals, I bought Michelins through the FMCA program a couple of years ago and had to pay the FET to the dealer when I bought the tires.

The first authorized FMCA Conti dealer I asked about the program said I would have to pay FET to him. I called direct to the national Conti program manager and he said no, FET is included in the price.  I went to a different FMCA authorized Conti dealer and FET was indeed included.

I don't know if the first tire shop was unethical and intended to pocket the FET themselves, or just lacked knowledge of the program.
