CB Radio

Today I replaced my completely worn-out Gel-Tech house batteries with Trojan T-105s and sudden
y everything that wasn't working now works (except dash stereo and a/c which is probably in need of charging.)

I discovered a CB radio. Does anyone use these anymore, and if so, on which channel(s)?

I use mine if stuck in traffic so I can find out what is going on (ch 19 usually) Don't care for the chatter the rest of the time. ---- Have a great day ---- Fritz

I travel with mine on ch 19 also, if the trucker language gets too rough for "family" listening then off it goes for a while.
I do wish some of the drivers would be more considerate of others, I wonder if they would use such language if their family was with them?

Mine doesn't work, don't tell the toddler she thinks it's a great toy (it has a cord).

PO used to threaten to hook it up to a pa speaker to "communicate" with his DW while parking.

Ditto channel 19 for general info and safety. Also plan to take technicians license for ham radio for the same reason. Will Initially purchase a dual band hand held.

Thanks to all for tge responses. I remember Ch. 19 from many years ago. We use. HF Ch. 16 for marine band.

I thought the FCC regulated appropriate over-the-air language.

Yup just like everything else you pay them to regulate. NOT HAPPENING, cause their overstaffed, and overpaid, therefore the mass confusion unles you ask them, go figure.

Hadn't been on a CB in years until we purchased a coach. The language has gotten so bad it isn't worth it. I find goggle maps will let me know when there is a traffic back up.

X2.......I was hanging with a 18er and could not pass, he got in touch of me and we chatted about conditions. Until I finally got by him, I'd heard his life story, lonely out there for a long hauler.
