Recommendations for an inspector in Denver or Colorado Springs

Hi,

We're long-time lurkers of this site and IRV2.  Thank you to everyone for your contributions to the site.  We have learned so much!

Does anyone have recommendations for an inspector in the Denver or Colorado Springs area?

Yesterday we looked at a 2003 U320 38' tag and loved it.  The minute we walked into the coach it felt like home.  This morning we agreed to buy the coach pending a passing inspection.  It's build number 6212.  The coach has been in Colorado since 2013 and was housed in Ohio previously. According to the owner (a lovely gentleman), it's always been garaged and has been regularly maintained. The coach looks in great condition (both inside and out).

We currently own a Northwood Nash travel trailer and have never owned a class A so we know we need to get the house and mechanics inspected.  We searched on NRVIA and found 6 inspectors in this area.  We'll reach out to the two inspectors that have aqua hot certifications tomorrow but we're hoping someone on this forum has a FT inspector they can recommend.

About us... we're a family (2 young girls who we homeschool) with plans to take two 3-4 month trips each year exploring this wonderful country (especially the West).  We primarily boondock and spend time in state and national parks.  We love anything outdoors.  We plan to get Cruiserlift installed which will carry a 250lb dirt bike and a 460lb street bike.  We'll also tow a 2-door Jeep Wrangler.

Thanks again!

Check with Brad Nerhus.  He is in Frederick, CO. and sold FT in CA a ways back.

Referring to the one in Colorado, not Gary's.  Correct.

Colorado, would definitely look at the one in Fla.,4 more feet is better with 2 kids, these engines will last if properly maintained so
mileage is not that much of a factor on diesel compared to a car.

Thanks for sharing!  We know we're sacrificing living space but we like to stay in a lot of national and state parks so would ultimately prefer a 35' coach.  With the motorcycle lift, we feel we need a tag so 38' seems like a pretty good comprise.

Totally agree.  We didn't have high expectations when we went to see the coach but it looks a ton better in person.  The photos don't do the coach justice.  The owner is a farmer and lives on a dirt road.  He had not cleaned the coach when he took the photos.  When we saw the coach it was clean and looked in great condition.  We also saw his heated garage where the coach was stored.  We'll likely have fluid samples taken and analyzed so we can be sure the mechanics are solid.

Thanks again for the referral to Brad!  I reached out to him this morning and he knows the owner and the coach.  He was able to confirm that the coach has been stored in a heated garage and has been regularly maintained.  Our inspection is scheduled for Thursday so we've got our fingers crossed everything checks out ok.

Say Hi to Brad from Roger and Susan.  He helped us buy our coach in CA from the original owners.  He sold it to them in 2001.

Best of luck with this process.

I wanted to post an update to let you all know that we bought the coach.  We're all very excited and can't wait to start our traveling adventures later this year.

RaceDad, a big thank you for taking the time to talk with us and update us on specific things to check for in a used FT coach.  We took copious notes and made sure to also pass your feedback onto our RV inspector.

Mike and his wife Barbara from Precise RV Inspection spent 8 hours inspecting the coach and gave it up a thumbs up.  If you need a Denver based inspector we recommend Mike & Barbara.  We called several companies and Precise RV Inspection stood out.

The owner offered to replace the worn tires and batteries or reduce the price so we could get them replaced.  We're not sure what tires to get (that's another post) so we took the price reduction.  The owner is also going to have the backup camera fixed and leaking manobloc replaced.  A few lights were out but we plan to replace the lights with LEDs so happy to tackle these ourselves.  The roof is in excellent condition but we'll reseal it in a few places where the sealant is thinning.

We've read several posts recommending Ron Jarvie for insurance.  We spoke to Ron and he helped us better understand RV insurance and get signed up with Foremost.

We're currently thinking we'll get a Blue Ox base plate and either Blue Ox or Roadmaster tow bars with M&G or AF1 brakes.

Decisions, decisions... it's all so exciting  ;D

Once again, thanks for the help everyone!
