1999 M11 AC Idler Pulley Part #

I am trying to find the part number for 99 M11 AC belt idler pulley.
Mine spun the bearing and I'm broke down in Rock Springs, WY.
Any help would be very appreciated.

If the tensioner BEARING is all that is wrong (three potential failures on the tensioner: bearings. tensioner spring or dampening function), very likely you can use a press/vice or even hammer and drift to remove the bearings and get replacements at most auto parts houses.  Have done that a number of times over the decades.

Here is a good video of failure of the tensioner function-- probably the least understood function of the tensioner: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uTLV5IU_IMM

Brett Thanks for your quick reply, but it is a idler pulley not a tensioner.
I have been to 7 truck parts stores here and none have the bearing for replacement
or the entire pulley with proper size bearing.
Any other ideas?

Dennis,

Sorry, I mis-spoke-- you are correct, with the M11, the A/C compressor is manually adjusted..

OK, if just the A/C idler, you can either cut/remove the belt or very likely remove the idler assembly and get bearings to replace those that failed.  Not that many small bearing options out there.

In any case, the A/C idler should not leave you stranded.

If you can take the old bearing out of the pulley, take it to a parts store and they can match it up. If you are near a John Deere dealership, it is the same bearing that goes in the press wheel on a John Deere no-till grain drill. Hope this helps.

I replace the bearing in the pulley with NSK 6203V from Grainger for the AC compressor on my ISM 11, if that is what you are referring too.

Bottom line, release tension on the belt (at the A/C compressor).

Remove the idler assembly.

Press/hammer out the old bearing(s) and take to any good auto parts house.  OR, let them remove the bearing.

Worse case is that you are on the road again (yes, a Willie Nelson song) without dash A/C.

As stated above, remove the belt it is not necessary. Neither is the other belt to the alternator. With the M-11 system the fuel pump, water pump and hyd pump are gear driven. You can use the generator if the alt belt or alt. fails and the roof airs for a bad A/C idler or compressor.

Just as a follow up I wanted to post the correct bearing number thanks to Steve (willy white) as he suggested it is
NSK 6203V for the idler pulley and that is correct. Went back to NAPA this morning and with that part # I was able to replace the bearing and be on my way (ON THE ROAD AGAIN WITH DASH A/C) in about a half hour.

Thanks to all that contributed!!!!!!!
