RIP Flo...jet

Long and short of it is, my water pump died, a FloJet Sensor R4525.

She's been noisy for quite a while here (4-5 months), growling when on and especially when flushing the toilet.  Lately, even after the toilet flushed,  the growling went on for several seconds - like the pedal was still depressed.  Started doing the same thing at the two sinks.

Then 'ol Flo, she got quiet, working just fine with increased water volume and pressure...  for a day then she just stopped pumping water altogether but her motor kept on running - housing became very hot.

So...  am looking at several options for a replacement -  a Shurflo 4048 or an 55-Aquajet ARV.  Any recommendations vs. one or the other?  Any other suggestions?  I won't be adding an accumulator tank, mainly because I need the space.

The new Shurflos do not need a expansion tank.

Shurflo 4048 or its sibling 4008.  They just work great.  For many years these have been our only water pressure, as we are never hooked up for city water pressure.

Ordered the Shurflo 4048 today, supposed to be in by Friday...  Looks to be a pretty straight forward install...  one that I could find many ways to make difficult!  8)

Seven years ago I was sure that the first thing that would go out on out coach would be the water pump.  So I ordered a brand new ShurFlo 4008 pump in anticiption.  Good thing I did, it is providing balast in my spare parts tub.  Just being prepared. i hope yours lasts as long as ours has.

Same here.  I even tried to kill it by leaving the pump on after emptying the tanks.  The thing ran dry for at least five hours all the way home and didn't skip a beat.  I couldn't hear it running until shutting down the engine and walking back to start unloading.  Still works quietly and flawlessly.
