Ride Height Valve by Torque

Does anyone have any experience with this brand of ride height valve? Just thinking of purchasing one as a spare to put in the "spare parts drawer" ............. just in case........... ::)

Why not just get the correct original part #? Also if my memory serves me ( I may be wrong) their are fast and slow reaction valves.

The original Haldex unit has been replaced with a newer plastic one.

Haldex 90555105 (Plastic). Replaces Haldex 90554241 (Metal)

I would prefer to have the original 90554241 metal valve  if I could find a source of NOS.

The three originals I replaced were the plastic versions, so I had no issues with putting in three new plastic ones. I still have many small air leaks to chase, but the three new ride height valves made a significant difference in how long the system retains pressure. The coach hadn't been started in more than a month and still had about 45psi and the overnight used to go down to about 60psi but now is often around a 100 psi in the morning after having been at cut off (120psi in my case) the night before.

Whatever valve you get, check to make sure the mounting holes are the same or prep a new mounting plate. The one I originally bought from FOT had a different mounting pattern.

I took these photos a while back of the OEM (I assume) front ride height valve on our coach.  Wanted them for reference in case I ever needed to go shopping for a new one.  Seeing what old one looks like might help if you are considering possible aftermarket replacements?

(The control rod is at a extreme "down" angle cuz the coach is fully raised up on safety stands)

Found one listed on eBay.  Looks identical to the one on our coach.  Ad said it is "brand new" but in the photos it looks kinda grungy.

What the heck - I ordered it for my spare parts bin.  Might be a rip-off, but I can always get my money back from eBay.

Note:  Seems the valve I bought was the only one for sale by that seller.  If you click link above, it will say "listing has ended".  Sorry 'bout that.

The two rear ones are easy to see by opening the basement doors behind the rear wheels.

The front is in the middle of the front (side to side), so harder to see.

The rear ones you can see when you open the rearmost door by the start batteries between the wheel and battery tray near the shock.

I received my eBay new old stock Midland N-15844 height control valve.  It is in great shape - was a little dusty from sitting on a self somewhere, but otherwise appears perfectly preserved.  So it is possible to find these old original valves - just takes a little luck!

Not a bad buy for 50 bucks.  I will stash away in my spare parts bin for a rainy day.

I would be a little concerned about any new old stock parts that have rubber O rings, hopefully they are still pliable.

I share your hope, but won't lose sleep over it.  The rubber bits on the outside of the valve are still rubbery.  Inside bits better protected?

The 25-year-old original valves on our coach are still functioning correctly, approaching 200K miles, so the O rings must be pretty tough.

Possibly more robust than the newer style composite Haldex valves.
