Another Roof Question

What is the thickness of the fiberglass on the roof. I recently discovered a significant crack with delam on the roof. Am trying to determine if the edge of the delam (see photo) is the total thickness of the fiberglass?
I can't see under this cracked area very well; but it is dark in color, smooth, and does not have any fiberglass fibers.
The edge of the crack has two colors; white on top and brown below. Interestingly in this area the brown tapers out and the white gets thicker. Wondering if this might be a previous repair rather than original factory glass.

Thanks for thoughts,
Dick

I'm guessing that is a previously repaired area.  That surface doesn't look anything like the surface of my roof (which is very smooth).

Foretravel painted our roof a few years ago, which gave it a bumpy look. Like orange peal or a golf ball.

No, we are commenting on the patterned print through. DOES look like a repair, not OE roof material.

We never answered your question about the thickness of the fiberglass.  I have worked on several openings in our roof, but never measured the fiberglass and gelcoat "skin".  I think it is fairly thin - probably less than 1/8" total, and very consistent in thickness and color.  The thread linked below contains a photo of a wall cutout plug (Reply #5) clearly showing the outer surface composed of brown fiberglass mat covered with a thin coat of white gelcoat.  The fiberglass on your coach roof should be similar in construction, but with the additional layer of roof paint applied by FOT.  I don't know how thick the FOT paint layer is, but I'm guessing it might be a slightly different color from the original (very) thin gelcoat?

Hope this helps.

The FG roof is only a covering to make it waterproof and is extremely thin-- the structure is the metal and plywood under it.

Our coach has a thin layer of thin Fiberglas and thicker wood and is .400 inches thick total. No mat. I put several of our solar panel fasteners through it to hold them down.
