Oil Catchment Container

Sometime in the past couple of years or so someone posted on a nifty change-the-oil container. Was it from Tractor Supply? I recall it was shallow and long and looked like a nice solution for oil changes. Anyone recall the product or have the link? Thanks.

After installing our "No spill system" I haven't used mine.  Would give it to you if you were in town.  I don't have a pic. of it but it is old 12 or 15 gallon blue sewer cart that I retired. Works great as it has wheels and a spigot to pour.

Mike, I like that no spill deal. I put a Fumoto on our last coach but this looks niftier. I always worry about stripping that plug when reefing on the torque wrench. Thanks.

I've had both and like the no spill the best. Still use the Fumoto for the drain on our hydraulic tank.

As a side note the problem with some drain plugs are not always form re installing. I has to do with the drain plug being too tall and it extends into the oil pan too far.  With the drain plug having a magnet in it if the threads extend into the oil pan too far the thread roots exposed will fill with particles. Forcing it out and not working it out will strip the threads.

No room to store a dedicated oil drain pan. So we empty out one of our Rubbermaid containers, drain oil in to it, pour used oil into new 5-gal Lowes pails and clean Rubbermaid with laundry detergent and put back in bay.

We do the same, but line the Rubbermaid container with two black trash bags.  Never got oil on the Rubbermaid.

What kind of a drain plug do you have Wolfe?

Mike which no spill system do you have?

Jor. What size threads does your Cummins take on the fumoto valve if I wanted to get one for my ism450?

Here you go, this is what several owners have switched over to.

This is the part # you should need 55-25418-01 (but double check) for a M-11/ISM.  Just go to the link above and fill our your engine info and you should come up with the same number.  This is for the "compact plug".
The compact drain plug is only .030"  thicker than the drain plug that was factory installed. Said another way it only sticks down .030" further than factory plug. The way it is built if you hit it and you have damage the factory plug would have done the same.

One more thing you will need a drain hose adaptor. I use the CD 2002 they are under accessories.

I don't have that rig anymore but I just ordered a Fumoto for a Cummins M-11.

Fumoto hangs down much lower to be the low collision point, than the Femco. NoSpills is a competitor to Femco with identical product. NoSpills is Canadian. Femco is EU. We have NoSpills/Femco Compact style and like it a lot. Drainers on engine and generator and use to be on previous Jeep.

I like the compact no spill one. Will be more protected. My transmission pan has a large dent in it from a tire gator.

Anyone know how to tell which size pan I have on my CAT?

Your oil capacity with filter change is 21 quarts.

No idea what "purpose made" oil container is sized for that. We have no interest in an additional, stored container

All I have ever used is a Rubbermade storage tub that I line with two HD trash bags, one inside the other.  It fits easily under the pan.  Then use an old coffee can to pour the old oil into the new gallon jugs, return them to the cardboard case they came in and return to Walmart for recycling.
