Replace 3 way, 10 gal Atwood with GCH10A-4E / 94023

I am installing these, and I am not sure how to install the Atwood 91230 Dual Switch and what wiring will be necessary to add/replace.  Should I replace the on/off gas switch in the kitchen and the hot water electric switch by the fuse panel under the bed?  I also want to upgrade as much of this nearby hot and cold lines, low point drains, etc. as possible from the grey lines to pex.  Any advice or links appreciated.  I will replace the hot water heater right away, the plumbing will be done next spring.

Stump, thanks for the thought.  Thought about the tankless, for me, right now, staying with the Atwood.  If this fails in less than 5 yrs, my next will be a tankless.

We are fully pleased with our OEM water manifold.

New hot water circuit board operates differently.  Original kitchen switch controlled 12 v power to circuit board.  And front of bed controlled 120 v power to heater.

New board needs constant 12 v power and the gas and electric switches 'tells' circuit board to turn on gas valve or electric relay.

But  you could manage both gas and electric with existing kitchen & bed switches.

We chose to to rewire things and our descriptions are here:

Below is our modified kitchen switch.  We ran some new wires and reused the kitchen gas switch:

The OEM 10 Gal 3 Way water heater had a single switch that controlled the LP igniter while the 120V A/C control was switched separately on the bottom of the bed platform. The new design has moved some of the water heater components to the front of the water heater and added a relay for control of the 120V A/C element. Anyway, the bedroom switch still has to be on to power the element but now the original switch on the sink controls the A/C relay and I repurposed the removed Antenna booster switch to control the LP side of it. The new water heater came with its own dual switch panel, but it was white, plasticky, and didn't match anything else in the coach. When I had the FW and waste tanks out while rebuilding the basement, I ran some three-quarter inch PEX to use as conduit and ran a bunch of wire through it into the area at the front of the storage compartment. I had coiled it up there so all that I had to do was figure out how to get up to the cabinets underneath the sink. I ended up drilling a new hole into the area underneath the drawers on the right side of the kitchen cabinets (next to the couch) and ran the wire up through the floor. On our coach, the drawers are just over the relay panel behind the inverter. It was pretty  easy once I figured out what to do and where to do it. The new water heater's DC wire bundle has four wires and includes a blue one for the lock out LED. I extended this wire and hooked it up to the red LED that was on the old water heater switch. I replaced the red LED from the antenna booster switch with a green one.

Sitting here in France I just read this posting and thought I had better mention that I bought that tank less unit  and now have 2 of them. One is in use in our Modular we have rebuilt/redisigned and wanted a spare.  They work great and I may put this other one in coach. Great units.
