Allison 6 Spd MH3000R temperature sender part number

Would anyone have the part number for the Allison MH3000R trans sender for our 97 U295? The one for the Foretravel VDO gauge
Thanks

The transmission in our 99' is an Allison MD3060R. I don't think the MH3000R was used by FOT until the early 2000's. Anyway, maybe the attached pdf will help.

Sensor will be a VDO part and not allison. Get number off of gauge and contact VDO

Too lazy to go look. I got it off a  97 for sale on FT websight. So they have it wrong....Yes, ours is a MD 3060R.

I realize it's a VDO # which is what FT installed. There are no numbers on the gauge, don't want to pull sending unit out, and have trans fluid everywhere while I look.
It's a 400 degree gauge, so I approached it this way.So here it is:

Temperature Sender 400°F/200°C 1/8-27NPTF 801/13/1 | Temperature Sensor Only...

It's a shot in the dark anyway, because I get a trans temp warning light, whenever the retarder engages while it's cold. Even if temp on both silverleaf and gauge reads 50 degree's.Based on what I see in the diagrams, that is an internal sensor in the retarder.Going to try this 1st
Thanks

Chris,
This leads me to believe it don't give the alarm when the trans. is up to temp.  Is that correct?

Yes,normal trans temp it's fine, all though on a rare occasion it will beep briefly and show trans temp warning, even though the trans is not hot (@ 190), both on gauge and sileverleaf. It always does it cold cruising at 30-40 MPH. Only when the retarder activates. If I turn the retarder off, it doesn't do it.
Just started this a while ago.

If you are lucky it is the retarder temp. probe starting to fail. It is an external mounted probe and simple to change out.  Now it could be one of the probes in the valve body that you have to pull the pan to get to but eliminate  the simple stuff first. Either one will drop a flag in the trans ECM and should be able to narrow down the possibilities. The big problem with the external retarder probe failing it generally don't drop a code untill it completly fails. . If this happens the codes should be: 6223 and 6100. (sensor failed high and retarder temp high)

Thanks for the info. I didn't see any probes or wires in any of the retarder area.Could you zero me in?
I need to do another oil change to complete the transynd oil change. I may just unhook the wire to the light bar (simple). I watch the trans tempt like a hawk anyway. It's one of the 3 set on my sileverleaf.

Chris,
Here is a link to a post that has pics of what Foretravel used in most coaches for the dash gauge and the location for the retarder temp probe. The retarder temp. prober does drop the light on the dash.  Erratic Retarder Temperature Reading

Thanks. Great info. Your awesome. I asked this question a few months ago, no answer.
I saw that retarder sensor, thought it was a speed sensor.

Chris,

You need to get your exact tag info to confirm this but I think the part number for your trans. temp. probe should be 295-11861
