Water heater switch LED's

Got a question concerning the Green and red lights on the  water heater switch near the sink. Is the red light suppose to stay on ? It flashes when I turn it on and the green light is constant.
Normal ?

I thought in the past both lights stayed on.

Nope. Failure to ignite lights the red light.

Should flash when turned on then go off.  Constant illumination= failure to ignite as stated above.
