Door recover

Its a small thing in a otherwise big coach, but one of my keys broke the other week, and didn't have a key for the big dead bolt lock on the front door, so had to take it out to get keys made, so I figured might as well recover the door too while I'm at it.
Used the same ultraleather I used for the jackknife sofa and dining room chairs and will recover the dash soon too. The door has a think skin of 1/8" ply covered in foam and then the outer covering. I took that off, epoxy'ed the ply at the base, and recovered with ultraleather. The local locksmith had new keys for me in minutes and it was just a short time later all was done. Looks good. Need to get some buttons I can put over the snaps and at some point change out the door gasket. Next year.

Beautiful job. Did you ever work in an upholstery shop in an early life?

Thanks. No never have. Never even used a sewing machine till the awnings were made in August. I have a nice pneumatic staple gun that works great. Used stainless steel staples as well. It could have been tighter, but the plywood is pretty thin, and I only have two sawhorses, and you really need at least 3.  Still it turned out good enough.
