11x24.5 tires

Iam new hear  and was told tires have a time out  about every 5 years well I have a 1989 foretravel grandvilla with  7500 miles on  tires they still look new but are around 4 years old should I get ready to change them we will be on the road in march and may  thanks  Jimmy Henline

24.5"??? Are you sure they are not 11R22.5?

And, there is no "drop dead" date for tires.  As one would expect, if not abused, they will last a lot longer than if they are.

Proper care and feeding of tires includes:

Always keeping proper inflation
If stored outdoors, cover them to keep UV light off them.  Light colored covers are cooler and therefore better.
Tires do best when driven at least monthly and long enough to let them warm up.

We will run 10 years on ours. Bridgestone gives a lifespan of 15 years on their truck casings. Do the above and if you store for the winter, take some weight off them.

The 89 should have 7.5 in wheels.  I will trade my new  H load rated 295/75/22.5 for a set of 9R/22.5 .
 The bus was better on narrower tires at higher pressure.
