Switching from 8R 19.5 to 225 70 19.5

We have 6" wheels...  we are having trouble finding sources for the older style 8R tires... 9 hours on NM hwy waiting on AAA to find our tire size....  can we swap out for the more popular ( in stock) 225 70 19.5 ??  We have found  Continental HDR ( F) ...

We want to replace all 4 drive tires and see if there are other options for the steer tires. .  Thanks in advance for advice...

Great.    We have measured our spare tire wheel and measure 7".  Could this be right ?  Stock wheels for the original 8R would have been 5.25" ???  Are we measuring rim to rim ?  Or is there an inside rim measurement that is being used ?

The correct  rim  width measurement is  tire bead to tire bead. So if the outside width of the rim is 7in , the bead will be about 1 in or a little less like 5.5 or 6 in.
Googlate it , should be pics.
