Washing Machine

Will opening water valves on the bay floor below the hot water heater drain the supply lines to the splendid washer.. I had planned to just use electric basement heater and not winterize my 270 just like I did with my 280 for 10 years but obviously the basement especially with the clothes washer is different.. I open the doors to the splendid and heat the bathroom with electric heat but if there is plumbing underneath the washer in a false floor I may not be getting heat to all points needed.

I would rather not put anti freeze in because I plan to use the coach this winter.

Blow low pressure air (under 40 psi)  through the lines with washer attempting to fill (on warm setting so both hot and cold get air). Then hit the drain cycle after that. Remember the drain hose is still a U trap design, so water will remain in the drain hose.

I know this subject gets beat to death every winter but my main concern was configuration of the splendid plumbing under the floor and can I get heat to it via interior and basement aux heat.. I will put some air thru it like Dan said.. On my 280 I could take down the rear storage wall with 4 screws and see pretty much all the tanks and heating it with a heater was a snap.. The 270 I put a heater on the floor of the wet bay after taking the panel down that covers fresh water tank and I get 42 deg air that makes it to the passenger side same bay when outside temp is 30 deg.. Still adj things and when it gets down to the teens I will probably put something on the passenger side bay floor..There isn't much room on the passenger side under hot water tank to put even the smallest Lasko heater.. I still have the option of running the propane furnace if needed.. I have drained probably 14 gallons of water from the coach including hot water tank.. Would rather not drain fresh water tank and feel like I can protect the water pump..

Put some antifreeze in the washing tub and the turn it to drain and it will put antifreeze in the pump and drain line. I would use between a quart and a half gallon of antifreeze. any excess will be in gray tank and help keep any water in it from freezing.

Good idea. Besides the pump and the washer drain hose U trap, there is one more U behind our washer (2003 U320).

I put 3/4 gallon of antifreeze in it yesterday, turned it on warm/cold and set it on final spin/drain and ran that out of it.. Not having one before I would think as you mentioned that that would fill the pump and the traps.. I'm keeping the inside of the coach at 65 deg at night and the wet bay at 55.. One would think the heat alone would keep anything from busting.. I know I'm beating this to death and appreciate the patience.

With those heat settings it should all be fine.
