Black & Grey Tank Flush

Still looking to trade up to a later model U320 (1999 - 2004 range), and am noticing they're lacking black & grey tank flush.  What's up with that?

Our 2003 U320 has a black tank flush that appears factory installed.

If a coach doesn't have a tank flushing system, it can be installed aftermarket.  Lots of different types are available, from simple to complex.

Our coach had black and grey tank flushing hoses added by one of the previous owners - but after trying them once, I never used them again.  Too much hassle for too little benefit.  I believe if you employ good holding tank management practices, and you have (or install) a third dump valve, that you can keep your tanks clean and odor-free without the use of tank flushing devices.  But that's just me.

We installed them in most all the coaches we sold at Foretravel. I love mine, they work awesome.  Late 90's coaches didn't come with them. They were made right here in Spokane.
It's not so much the spraying of the water in the tanks, but the fact they put fresh water in the tanks, without taking a hose into the toilet to flood the tanks.Then open the dump valve and repeat.
Just install quick disconnects on your hose ends to make it easier.

And it doesn't hurt to have an anti-syphon valve in line also

My setup has a valterra removable third valve with a clear section that has a water hose fitting on it that has a water shutoff valve on it.  Handy device. 

I dump the tanks sewer first then waste.  Then close third valve and open the sewer tank valve then open the water valve and fill the tank.

Foretravel made the tank levels visible through the drivers window on our coach if I stand on a upside down 5 gallon container.

So I can check the levels while filling the tanks. 

The clear section shows the effluents coming out. 

Several fills and drains normally made the outflow run clear.

Not sure if an overhead spray can do better so I have not bothered about intank flush systems.

No extra holes.  The third valve is curved.

Like Caflashbob I've used the Flush King now made by
Camco in the same manor with exceptional results for 14 years. I would not travel without it.  Google the item on youTube and you'll see clearly how well it works.  I also use a short 6" or 12" clear extender to make access easier.
