Cummins M-11 222 Fault Code- Ambient Air Pressure Sensor

So, thankfully, I was able to locate the Sensor Codes on this site!  I made it 400 miles into my 2,800 Mile Trek with now Major Issues?  Then, I got the dreaded Stop Engine Light Illuminated! BYW My particular Fault code Switch Setting was the Top Switch in the DOWN Position, and I Mashed the Bottom Momentary Switch once!  Took a while to get the code flash.  I have a small Bulb that has always just stayed illuminated under the dash, and it Never Flashed!  What I got instead was the Check Engine light Flashed with a Series of 2 2 2 then the Stop Engine came on again.  So if someone could please explain the Proper Sequence, to retrieve all codes stored, I'd appreciate that!


Also, is their any resource to find the Location of that sensor, perhaps?  I see a few codes dedicate to the Ambient Air Pressure Sensor, as well, and I believe that they may be other sensors?  The light only briefly comes on then goes off, so not always a Solid Light!

Also, would an Ambient Air Condition be related to Intake Air? A few months back, I did have a Birds nest that I removed, on the Intake all the way down to the Filter!  I put a New Filter, in, after taking a Plumbing Snake as far as I could.  There seems to be a "SHELF" that is about 2 feet down from the Top, right after the 90 degree bend heading down!  I used a Vacuum Hose and went Up, and Down and felt I got all debris from that nest!  Seems that the screen, on one side had lost it's grip, and a Bird was bale to get in there! (You might want to look for that!)  I Took Silicone, and bedded them both back into position, By Pulling on the screen with wire!  They are in there pretty good now, but is this an actual Intake issue, perhaps? I put in a New Filter, and the Old one had no evidence of bird nest material, so that was good!

Here is a thread that may help you find the sensor location. With yours being a '95 it may be a little different but should be close. The pics are not the best and it also talks about the cam sensor.

I am becoming so familiar with the location of most of the sensors, and issues, in the past few days!  I MUST give Excellent Credit, to Cummins, for providing me with very much info from not only location, but Part Numbers, and Troubleshooting as well!  All over the phone, and easily 30 Minutes of talking me through everything!  Not only did it make it easier for a General Truck repair facility, to do as they instructed, but it also made it possible for the Overall Bill in Man-Hours more affordable, as the Tech, didn't have to start with no information to really go with!  Also calling Foretravel, has been so informative, as well!  It's nice to know you have a Support Staff, ready to assist!  And this Forum......what can I say!  Again, the Most Fantastic Owners, who are willing to reach out to help us all! Thanks! They didn't have the part, but we did Troubleshoot the system enough, to know it is the Sensor, and I only had to travel 15 Miles or so, to get me to A Cummins Facility!  They are replacing the Sensor today! I was Snowed in, due to Winter Storm Diego, and had 14" was out my Front Windshield, 2 days ago!  Again, I was Fortunate, to find a Camping World, to be safely Tucked into a Courtesy 50 Amp Spot!  We'll get this straightened out soon enough, so that Santa Clause, can make it to California, by Christmas! My Trusty Foretravel Sleigh, is seeing to that!

The other failure prone sensor that was upgraded and cheap and easy to replace is the cam position sensor.

Plastic inside of a metal sleeve.  Dual circuits.  Gets oil soaked and fails. Tow truck time.

ISM has dual locations on the newer motors to prevent failures.

New sensor is solid metal tipped. 

If partially bad you can hear the erratic idle at the engine compartment door when running.

That's how my shop manager found the issue as he walked behind my coach.

I ended up having ALL recommended Sensors Changed and keeping the Old ones as spares! 3, out of 4 were available!  That was at the Cummins Dealership, as Camping World refused to work on a Diesel! The 4th was an EPS Sensor which was Not Available due to being shipped FEDEX to wrong location.  I will pick one up, and have it replaced ASAP!  Spent $1,300.00 in 4 hours, Labor and Parts, there!


'Ol Roger, is still with us,huh?  Glad to hear that!  Please tell him I said Howdy! Great Guy, and believe in his time, he sold more FT's, than any Sales Associate out there! I saw customers purchase 4 or more coaches, from him, as they upgraded over the decades!


I am still in Virginia too!  Black Ice is Possible now!  I would have shoved off, otherwise though, but still having issues with the Havoc the Mice have caused by Eating wires! So I am at Camping World, to get Coach issues attended to! AC Circuit # 2 is Inop, keeps tripping CB's, and some other minor things!  Nice thing about here, this time of year, the Volume is low, so they can scoot you right in to take your money! I'm sure the weather played it's part in that factor as well!

It's all good, but after 5 days here, time to get down the road!

We have 50 Amp power, but with Navy Showers, we are Practicing our Dry Camping Techniques!  Only used a half Tank of water  Hope to get better at that, though!  I brought along an Even Pure Heater, and 2 small ones, so the Electric Heaters are doing a great job, as well!  We use less propane!  Our U-320 had an Aqua Hot, Factory delete, BTW!

Picked up a CAC Hose, as well, as they said mine are getting Old.  Good to have a Spare, along with new Clamps, as well!

Will pass on your hi to Roger. 

Roger and I and a few others turned around the Ca. Store in the late 80's.  I spent $75k of the companies money out of my stores budget in the first year fixing out of warranty older coaches that were never fixed correctly or had had failures and issues that should not have occurred.

Best money I ever spent. 

Almost every old customer bought a new coach in the next three years.  Was way fun.

It was not the money.  Most customers had enough money.  It was the idea of not keeping your word.

Probably why I post here on things that I see are not up to oem factory quality.

When we resold trades with correctly done service and mods I did not have to rip stuff out for the next owners.

Almost universally cheaper was inferior quality and reselling it cost the store business over the long run after the new owners had problems during use.

They just wanted it to work.  And trusted Foretravel and I and Roger to give them trouble free quality coaches.

Midwest thinking.  Keep your word....
