Pulled the trigger on VMSPC

Finally bought a VMSPC. Had several miscues when I was ready to buy, But then the coach intervened. :thumbsdown:  Only bummer is that when we get it, We will be motionless for 6 weeks.

Im going to do the same , about march or so. What kind of a screen did you get? Im thinking theyre all on sale right now all over the place.

I'm happy with an old PC laptop on the dash. Old and cheap are more than up to the task.

Im going to do the same , about march or so. What kind of a screen did you get? Im thinking theyre all on sale right now all over the place.
It will be in transit to my next destination in Tucson shortly. We will arrive there on Jan 1st and the VMSPC will arrive a few days later or maybe even awaiting our arrival. As a bonus Roger will be at the same park (Justin's Diamond "J") in Feb. So might have the advantage of one on one tutoring.

I haven't owned a PC in almost 20 years. My old Apple Wallstreet power book (circa 2000) with the old original Motorola CPU is as incompatible with VMSPC as you can get. So it made sense to go with Rogers offering. The ASUS will also do duty as a basic email surfing platform for the DW for when I'm mucking about in Photoshop on the iMac for hours at a time.

Can't beat Roger .. great customer service which is lacking in the world and a great guy to boot..

Roger do you have any undated screens or the same ones for the last year or so?

If you have any newer ones do you mind posting a copy on here? Thinking of changing if you have a newer one..

Congrats bigdog.. I find it difficult to drive without the info now.. even a couple miles to park the coach from the house..you will love it

Thanks, David.  My goal has always been to make adding VMSpc to your coach easy.  Everything you need comes in one box ready to hook up, plug and play.  Most users tell me it takes less than an hour to install and they are ready to go.

I am always tweaking screens.  Not every coach has the same data available so screens change to meet each user's needs.  The next version of VMSpc (due out first quarter, 2019) will have some round gauges.  I have tried them out in my pre-release versions.  Interesting, they will appeal to some users but I think they use quite a bit of space for the data they show.  I have attached a document about editing VMSpc  screens.  It is pretty easy to do but getting the details just so can take some time.

There is a current screen here as well.  It has most of the gauges you might want. Rtrd Status and Rtdr % work on a few coaches but not many, HP and Torque (calculated values) work on some but not all coaches.  The yellow box will show any engine or transmission error codes in real time if they occur if your engine and transmission are reporting them.

I bought my asus VMSpcfrom Roger  in July and really like it. Have talked to Roger a couple of times on the phone and he was a lot of help..  Look forward to meeting him someday....  hopefully he'll down in the Houston area to visit Rudy some day.....  or maybe we'll be out on the road more in the future and get to meet in a road environment.....

Roger,  Has Silverleaf fixed the problem with the transmission output, where only ?? marks are shown? 

I also have a problem where the gauges only  update every few minutes.  With MPH that is not frequently enough.  I have not checked into their site in a few weeks, (parked in PP until Sunday)

If your transmission indicator is only showing ?? Then make sure under communications the Both is showing in the box near the bottom.  The transmission gauge does work in this version.  The next place to look is the cable connection to the data port.  Not showing the gear range and actual gear is common when the connection is not good.  All of your symptoms make connections a good place to start.

I bought one from Roger also about a month ago (Thank you Roger), its plug and play with everything you need on a flash drive along with screws, Velcro, zip ties etc if needed. Great service a prompt shipping and lots a preset screen layouts too.

I took my first trip with it two days ago, and it was well worth the minimal investment for all the critical information it displays. Averaged 9 MPG cruising 68-70 on i10 from Parker AZ to Temecula CA. I'm using my laptop for snow also, but I plan on adding something a little more permanent down the road.

Would this program tell me fuel pressure in my 6v92? I had a problem with fuel pressure last summer. It would have been nice for a little heads up!

There are fuel pressure and temperature gauges but VMspc only shows what your engine reports.  With the DD you need to have a the DDEC II ECM to have any engine data reported and the will likely be little or no transmission info.  Look to see if you have a 12  pin rectangular data port.

Would this program tell me fuel pressure in my 6v92? I had a problem with fuel pressure last summer. It would have been nice for a little heads up!

On my coach and I assume all other U300s with a DD6v92 will have DDEC II.  My Pro-Link shows fuel pressure psi as N/A on the list of operating parameters.  However, it does show a barometric pressure sensor (BARO sensor).  The ECM uses the data in controlling fuel delivery to the engine. A faulty BARO sensor can cause poor engine performance.

Are you getting any fault codes from your diagnostic code reader under the flip up dash?  Code 47 is High Fuel Pressure and Code 48 is Low Fuel Pressure.

According to my engine serial and mod # it is DDEC II. Im to lazy to hike out into the snow and check the under dash connector. I don't have any kind of engine analyser. Ive been looking for a kent moore for a long time. The ones I have found are way over priced.  This is why im leaning toward this silver leaf setup. Last summer I blew a high pressure fuel line, from the secondary filter into the head. It could have been a big disaster. Talk about a huge smoke cloud!
