Unfaded walnut

New speakers require some minor alterations, plus other modifications reveal walnut that that has been covered for 30 years and is much darker. Any suggestions, bleach? Not a finish expert. And not sure if this is really UV damage. Staining or refinishing the rest of the wood is a monumental undertaking.

People that looked at your exact coach new mentioned the too dark new.  I lowered the back of a jackknife sofa on a used coach and showed them how the walnut would lighten up beautifully.

Funny to see you post  about the resulting lighter panels on the same coach 30 years later.

Phred, walnut lightens up with UV exposure.  Cherry darkens.  New cherry additions in my coach catch up pretty quick, like a year or two,  I saved the cherry panels from my LP refrig.  Pretty good match when I need it.

With walnut bleach would be very iffy and hard to control.  Maybe just be patient for a while.

I guess, i will be patient and wait. I'm excellent at both of those, and will add it to my to don't list.

I use Old English on all the wood including the floors. I've make some alterations and added new wood but the Old English makes both old and new wood to the same color. I try to oil the interior at least once a year. It's absorbed into the wood and gives a nice satin finish.
