Back from Texas with a U225

Well I came back with a U225. 1400 miles and no problems. 5.9 turbo ran great. Both heaters not running. dead refrigerator . Already fixed main heater now on to the bedrooms heater. Generator runs fine. Lots of shims to go. Rides very well. I am happy.

Congrats!  Several ways to approach correction of the broken fridge - search the Forum for possible solutions.

Is there really a town named "Santa Claus" just down the road from your location?

Yes-almost across the street. Has a big red Santa in plastic that scares my dog.

You might suggest that he delete his ad for your coach.

Also, as you ask questions, it helps if you go in and add your coach information to your signature.

And DO feel free to ask questions.

As we discussed previously, restoring ride height to factory spec is important to suspension and transmission longevity.

Congratulations on your new coach. A good deal that will give you years of enjoyment. Heaters are easy to fix with a little DIY knowledge. Read all the fridge posts and then decide what path is the best for you. Lining the fridge compartment with backerboard is a must with this coach in my opinion. It's easy to take out plus you will have to do that to repair/replace it.

How about filling in all the info so we know model/year, etc?

Enjoy!

On your refrigerator check the flu pipe for this little gizmo.  The black dot between the wires is a reset switch, just push it with a screw driver or similar device and see if fridge will start up.

Steve, is that reset switch on all refrigerators? Never looked at mine, didn't know if it was model specific.

I am not sure on what models it is on, I have seen it on several different ones.  I looked for about a week when mine quit and traced my 12v wire where I had 12v on one leg but nothing on the other and I thought it was something I had to replace.  when I found some discussion on pushing the little back dot to reset it.

That thermo switch looks like the Dometic fire recall fix, or Norcold I forget which.

Yes part of recall and same as mine, when I installed the arp, ran power to control board thu it [thermo switch or sometimes called snap disc.], so either it, or the ARB heat sensor can shut down the fridge.

I think you got a great deal. I bought my 1993 U225 5 years ago. It had a new Norcold N841 at that point. I don't know what the original refrigerator was but I like the Norcold. All I've had to do to my coach, other than routine maintenance and tires, was add solar panels,  replace the generator's voltage regulator  and the microwave.

I do know that my 1987 Rockwood has its original Norcold and it has been good for 6 years that we have been full timing in. Just stay away from the 1200's Norcold.

I think it has all the manuals but I will check. I have the Orange?Red? manual and a black one. And small green Cummins manual and a blue Allison manual. And a Traveler pouch. I think I am missing a Unihome U225 only chassis manual.
