How wire lpg level sensor to See Level?

I'm installing the See Level monitor model 709 which has ability to read the lpg level sensor.  Does anyone know how to connect the two? 

Green wire going into the monitor is for the lpg.  The lpg tank has green and white wires. Audit schematic shows the white wire as the signal and green as ground.

The See Level manual isn't much help and haven't gotten a response from my inquiry to the factory.

I don't recall the wire colors but I cut the LPG wire at the back of the audit computer, under the dash, and ran it to the seelevel computer.  You can test with a continuity meter from wire to chassis to confirm which one is ground, then use the other wire.

I ran the wire from the See Level to the propane tank and used a double spade connector at the original Audit connector....Tank should be full when you calibrate the unit.

Thanks for the info. 

To be clear: The existing setup at the lpg tank has two black wires coming from the sensor.  I guess the sensor works by varying resistance.  There is a connector joining the two black wires to a green and a white wire. 

Do you just splice in the See Level green wire into the white wire?

Hi Larry, I went to look at my install notes and I connected the 18ga Green wire from the SeeLevel wiring harness to the white wire (or whatever it is connected to) at the tank.  The other wire goes to ground.  I ran a second wire fron the other LP tank wire back to where I could tie into the SeeLevel Black 18 ga ground wire just to be sure they all had a common ground point.

My LP tank was not full when I installed the SeeLevel system and after I never filled it before we took it out.  Calibrated or not empty is the same in either case.

Very Timely!  I am finally Installing this system, and Considering mounting the Gauge Panel, next to the Allison Selector panel, facing the Driver.  If Anyone has another place that worked out well for them, please advise!

We installed the panel on a wall in the bathroom. Easy place to get to with wires and easy place to check water and waste levels.  It should be in convenient place to check. Maybe once a day or so is all it takes.

A second panel in the wet bay is helpful as well.

The dash oem location allows a person to be able the see their tank levels from the drivers side front window with a small step ladder if necessary. I fill and flush my tanks sometimes at full hookup sites.  Several times.

Versus have to walk in.

Old bounders and Foretravels were unusual in the biz to have a driver without leaving their seat be able to monitor the tank levels while driving

We installed two panels, one in the wet bay, the other in the bathroom.

We also installed two. One in in wet bay ( very convenient) and one above the entry door where all of my other systems are monitored.  Above the door allows me to easily check the level from inside or outside ( don't have to take my shoes off to see it ).    There is often a sun glare on the monitor outside in the wet bay ( still invaluable to have) so I like having another at the door.

You have to press the sensor button you want to see the level.  Probably not what you want to be doing while driving.  The bathroom location seemed natural to us.  Easy to check levels once a day or so to see where you are.

Installed one in bathroom with pump switch, and one out in wet bay with pump switch replacing wet bay water pump switch.  One of my most useful upgrades, along with Flush King, now easy to empty tanks.  Used intermittent switches for water pump.

One very useful diagnostic and inexpensive tool is 12 volt test light to find hot 12 volts and a multimeter to find ground among many other uses.  Other wire (green) will read ohms and be the one to connect to.

Others may have a different experience but I've found the SeeLevel LP reading to be inaccurate. I ended up relying on the tank gauge instead. The water and waste readings were accurate however.

I put a 709 (the one which requires a button press to view and select tank) in the wet bay for the dumping process, and a 714 in the what I call the coach information panel. The later isn't the easiest to run wires too, but since the Powerwatch and Heart Inverter remote was already there, it seemed like the best place. I put the Magnum ARC50 remote, the Midnight Solar Classic 150 charge controller remote, the Progressive Industries remote displays, and the Seelevel 714 in that space. The 714 shows four values all the time. The bottom display is either house bank voltage or LP level. I leave it on voltage and just switch to LP when I want to check it since that changes slowly over time. The second from the bottom is temperature. I have one sensor inside and one behind the step box tucked up high. I just use the associated button to toggle between inside and outside as desired. Side note, I used a couple of the now unused Audit tank monitor wires to hook up the sensor behind the step for the outside temperature. I just extended them from the dash area down through where a bundle already exited through the floor on over to the space behind the step. The top three displays show Black, Grey, and Fresh at all times. Works for us!

I like the old audit system for one additional reason.  If I step up a bit the screen is visible from the drivers window.

So if I leave the audit on and am working on the coach outside I can monitor tank fill and drain through the window.

My buddy fixed the audit so it's screen has no flickering or other issues.

Had a bad electronic part inside its box.  Not the main board or IC

Had the fresh water sensor die in sept last year...Spuratic level numbers on the display.. went through support and they thought maybe it was interference with electrical.. Worked fine for a year and a half... after some testing as in blocking the signal with a thick pad and such.. Pete sent me a new sensor that was 16" tall instead of the stackable kind... worked good after that.. Now the Black tank is doing the same thing... so it might be next to replace.
