Boost switch

The switch worked like a charm so I could start the generator to charge the batteries.

The generator starter is typically on the house batteries.  If you need the boost switch to supplement the house batteries to start the generator, you might be letting your house batteries get too discharged.  The generator should be a pretty easy load for the house batteries at anything more than the recommended max 50% discharge.  Any less than that is probably damaging your batteries.

Correct.  And a VERY good idea that it is wired that way.  The salesman switch by the door allows you to turn off all lights, etc as you leave the coach, but does not allow your ice cream to melt!

Under white cover on rear streetside wall of big bay are two vertical stacks of 12 volt circuits. Everything connected to one stack is controlled by step salesman switch and the other stack is not controlled by salesman switch. It does not take much to have both stacks turned off by the salesman switch.

Things not controlled by salesman switch are normally fridge and detectors. Take off the cover and look around on how wires are connected to the stacks.
