Inverter question

I am dry camping for 5 days and tonight I turned on the inverter and the microwave and Cool Matic work but none of the other 110 outlets are working.  I dont see any tripped breaker.

is there something in the setup that I need to do as I have no power for my CPAP  :o

Just to get by tonight can you plug the cpap into the microwave outlet?

Cycle every breaker off then back on

Check the GFCI outlet in the bathroom.  If tripped, see if it will reset.  Sometimes changing 110V power sources will trip it.

That was the first thing I checked and i rest it and hit the test about 5 times and no change but it did have the yellow light on.d

I started the generator and still nothing I flipped all the breakers still no go.  went back to the GFI and reset it again and the yellow light went out, so I tried my CPAP and coffee pot and all is working. 

Not sure why it tripped, thing worked earlier today when I fixed lunch.  I may replace the GFI in the morning.

ah I found the  culprit, I got a little induction cook top.  I guess it is to much for the GFI to handle  :'(

GFCI outlets have a finite life as does the circuit breakers used in your coach.

Replace the outlet. Carry a spare circuit breaker.

Gfi outlets do not trip on overload  they only trip on current imbalance.  I am guessing your gfi outlet is not liking the square wave of the inverter  if you still have one  I would replace the gfi plug. The old ones would fail and still let power thru, new ones fail and kill the power.

Well I threw in another problem with it. "LOL"

with the inverter on and if it turn the microwave on it works but it trips the GFI and the MW just hums along.

So now are the GFI's for RV's the same as one for a house?

MW and GFI protected circuit are on different circuits.

You never know in the older coaches.. Depends how many changes were made by different owners.. I have seen somethings that make our head spin!!

The GFI only controls the outlets downstream of it on the passenger side of the coach. The drivers side outlets are not affected. Or vice versa if the GFI is on the drivers side.

Not quite, mine does the outlets on both sides of the living area, the one by the sink of course and the one at the foot of the bed.
