Basement Ceiling

I would like to mount a TV slide out to the ceiling of one of the bays.  Is there anything to avoid while drilling holes?

Depends on what it will weight.

Remember that on an arm when you hit a bump there will be a lot of torque.

MUCH better to drill and tap into structure (steel box beams).  Use a magnet to find/define the beams.

Thanks Brett, I think the total weight will be around 40 pounds.  Just wanted to make sure I don't damage something important under there.

40 pounds times torque on bumps/braking means it will be much more secure if anchored in the box beams.
