Oil Fill Discrepancy

Changing engine oil in Cummins ISC 350
Can someone explain why the oil fill capacity discrepancy between the Foretravel manual (20 quarts) and Cummins spec sheet (inside the manual says 6.3 US gal). My effort is to also calibrate the dip stick during the process as mentioned on the forum. At 20 quarts the dipstick says that I am 4 quarts low so should I assume the Cummins spec sheet is accurate.

This is my first DYI oil change and everything went great thanks to forum input.
1. Installed the no spill plug
2. Poked hole in filter to drain before removal
3. Trash bag in pale for any cleanup.
4. Dip stick calibration still a mystery at this point.

Most accurate info is from Cummins with your engine serial number.

Also need to determine which oil pan is on the engine. It's possible the oil pan has been changed to one of a different capacity than the original.
