Glen, Our RhinoFlex is working fine. We did loosen lock ring and was able to put several twists on the hose coupling so the hose was not fully in, then we tightened the lock ring. Bought a package on Amazon with 2 10' hoses and a clear elbow and found it the new style with permanent ends. Called Camco and they told me a change was made a year ago.

BTW, their clear elbow can twist off the red multi size threaded part, so we keep both pieces tight with a hose clamp around the gasket between the red and clealr.

We plan to use the permanent ended hoses. We now have 3 10' RhinoFlex and for backup/extension we have 3 regular 20' stored in pvc tubes next to our propane tank.

We have never had any problems with RhinoFlex.

Did your ends come off the hose?

Glenn, I have heard great things about sewer. solution.  Amazon.com: Valterra HO5708 Kit with 10 Ft SS01 Complete SewerSolution...
It seems kinda pricy but there is no electricity needed and you just use water pressure to dump black tank,
I have not used one but am looking at getting one.
Chris

I found it worked ok and used it once to pump up hill.  Quit using it because it was too slow, way too slow for regular use.

About ten years ago an rv sales lot owner raised the sewer dumps a few feet with glued on PVC to prevent squatters from dumping.  We rented the lot, he permitted me using the sewer solution which will pump sewage up hill, and it worked great.  If you had a a sewer clean out on the side of your house, this hose alone might work without modifications to your home.

My Rhino-Flex is about a year old and got a leak in the middle.  I do like the way it collapses.  Will try to cut and patch this Spring before our next trip.  See if this is a one time problem.

I've been using my main Rhinoflex hose for about 5 years with no problems.  Also have a Sewer Solution (before Camco bought them) and use that only at my storage place.  It is slow and does take water to push through the clogs but does work well.  It also gives you another way to back flush your tanks.

Barry.....yes. I easily removed them and was going to just buy a new 20 ft section. I went to Walmart, and Camco's 20 replacement is like 12 mils !!??? Crap. I will keep the ends, look for good hose that will work ( for a spare) or give them to you next time I see you. As for Sewer Solution, Rudy has it, loves it.....I'm gonna pass. The quality seems in question and while in Mexico, we encountered two RV parks where water pressure was a joke. I would probably have to have a pump just for that hose, so it got too complicated. I got fed up with my search, and just ordered a Valtera Dominator to try. I'll let you know how it works out.

Initial cost of hose, divided by number of years of use before failure/replacement equals annual cost.
Sometimes more expensive isn't necessarily a bargain.
Everyone uses their hoses differently and with a frequency that will affect hose life.
Left hooked up and out in the sun/elements will have a bearing on your hose life.
Supporting your hose with commercial supports or an eaves trough (like I do) and also covering the hose with another piece of eaves trough will probably (and hopefully) extend the life of the hose.
