Sewer hose

After a few years, my Rhino Flex hose spang leaks in the hose at a VERY bad time. I was about to replace it with Rhino Extreme hose, until I read all the terrible reviews.
I want a durable hose. Any suggestions??

Not cheap, but great hose. I am using one and some others on the Forum are also.

I use this.
Amazon.com: Camco 39631-A 20' Durable High Tensile Strength Sewer Steel Wire...

I change it out about every five years to be on the safe side, not because I ever had a leak.  The UV will change the color from brown to dark gray but no leakage.

I had spotted the Lippert unit a while back. Took my breath away. I was going to
buy some Camco Rhino Flex again, but am willing to give this a "go"
Question is: I installed a third valve with the four bayonet tips....how will the Lippert attach at the third valve??
There isn't a lot of room from the valve to the door

Will the Lippert hose fit the original connector and allow the compartment door to close fully?

Sure would like a little more detail about just "how" you modified the wet bay that you love.
Also...If you buy the Lippert system, you have to modify the bayonet nubs and glue on the adapter. I just don't see how this is done , unless I have to remove the third valve. I tried to find out if I can get an extension to the 18 foot length....I had a few occasions that required a longer hose.....Seems that one is available for another $144 ??!!!!

There's 3 things that I added to our sewer clean out connection but I had to cut the pipe back a bit, like 6 ".  First thing was a 3rd valve for the common reason that everyone recommends.    Second was to leave room for a clear elbow so I could see what's going on ( actually for what's coming out ).
There is now room for the connections to all be in place when the door is shut and the rare occasion that I leave everything connected.
Third thing was a clear end cap. I was SUPRISED once when I hadn't completely closed the black valve and ther was a little something behind the black cap.  That won't happen again. Clear cap now so no surprises.

I stayed with the conventional hose only cause everyone carries them in case the coach wash guy steps on it again.....

Glenn, I have heard great things about sewer. solution.  Amazon.com: Valterra HO5708 Kit with 10 Ft SS01 Complete SewerSolution...
It seems kinda pricy but there is no electricity needed and you just use water pressure to dump black tank,
I have not used one but am looking at getting one.

My solution was to place the 3rd valve behind utility bay wall. Probably more work involved than most would want to do, but I had already made many modifications to that area, so it was a bit less work than it would have been otherwise. Even with having the 3rd valve behind the wall, I cut the hub down slightly for the cam lock fitting to shorten it. As it is, I have no problem with closing the compartment door with the sewer hose deployed, though I seldom have it out except to dump. Since I leave the sewer hose connected and stowed under the hose and cord reels, it is ver quick for me to dump and put the hose away. Keeps the outside of the hose clean, and I cap the nozzle and close the valve at the end of the hose while it is stowed. The area stays clean, and the 3rd valve makes dumping and flushing quick and clean with no wasted potable water.
I linked to the install thread in my reply above and here is a picture.

I have a waste master, not installed - have not figured out how to have it connect at the correct angle in the wet bay, so I have not modified the coach to install the hose

Isn't the problem with RhinoFlex that the hose is not screwed tight and fully into the end piece and then the locking ring tightened. I don't think there are problems if ends are tight.

New RhinoFlex has ends that do not come off:

Barry,
I was interested in the Rhino Extreme hose because it seemed to be better designed. After reading Amazon reviews about leaks, I got concerned. Although my old Rhino Flex developed leaks and caused me a unpleasant experience, it had served me well for the past few years......maybe over 5 years???? I am interested in the Lippert system, but don't want to screw around with the third valve, which I have come to really like. Also, I have a hard time justifying the cost. I like the cam lock, but you can't have everything. Are you having any problems with leas at the couplings?? I had changed gaskets, but still had a small leak. Appreciate your opinion.

Did you remove it?
Do you just have the 18ft hose or did you purchase an extension?

No third valve. The nozzle has a shut off so I use it as the third valve.

I just have the 18' which is a little long, I think 10 feet would be ideal and add the extension if needed.  I didn't add the 3rd valve yet, but did replace the two valves while I was in there. The wastemaster has its own valve, which acts as a 3rd valve when dumping. It allows me to back flush the black water valve before closing it, removing any debris from the seal area. I don't use it to combine the black and grey though, I like having them separate for now.

I do plan on raising the electrical reel (simular to Don's) so I can leave the hose attached at all times. I had it on there for a while, and it makes for a quick, clean dump, but it's a little tight at the moment. I also had to cutout the left side panel to allow the left cam lock lever to open. The door closes with the hose attached as originally intended.

Sorry but I couldn't find any pics with the wastemaster attached, so I went out and took a couple pics for now.

Our Waste master hose is 20' without the extension and I have a 20' extension which I have only had to use once so far. Even when the sewer hook up is behind the coach, the extension hasn't been necessary, except one time at a park in Canada that had the hookup behind the coach on a slant about 15' behind the coach. I wouldn't have needed it there except it was a pull through and I didn't want to unhook the towed.

I guess it is 20' as Don stated, so much for my memory lol.

No, it's not the same as the 3rd valve Tim, and I may add it later if needed.
