Campground out west

A while back there was a thread about a small campground out in the AZ/NM mountains that several Foretravel owners go to every summer. does that ring a bell with anyone?

Rick,

Are you thinking about Eagle Nest NM?  That is a high-elevation (8,300') hide out for quite a number of Foretravels in summer.

Is that the name of the town or the campground? I just noticed in your post the address.

Eagle Nest is the name of the town.
West Lake RV Park is the name of the RV park.

There are other RV parks in both Eagle Next and nearby Angel Fire, but West Lake has historically been the "Foretravel hangout".

Hopefully some of the "usual suspects" headed there this summer will weigh in.

Dianne and I will be returning to the condo we rent in Angel Fire for a month beginning  June 7.

Hope to see you out there-- the climate and scenery are delightful!

Payson is 5K, and it sometimes gets to be AC time. We like it from 7K (Flagstaff) on up. We wanted to get up to Angel Fire, but got a quote of $900.00 a month.....pass.

barndog, I sent you a pm, better to talk than type thirty minutes IF you an interest

a rural park, not a resort.  the people are the main call.....other places have the same access to history and scenery and recreation and foods....but, ah, the people.  That is the draw of our site.

call me if wish, I sent you pm with phone number

Buy a state park pass for $225 and stay at all state parks for free, 4 bucks a day for electric if you need it.

CONTACT GLENDA | WEST LAKE RV PARK

Looks like $330/month.

Wonder if the $900/month is the brand new  5 star resort run by the Angel Fire Hotel???  Really NICE place, but not for the budget conscious.

The Angel Fire Resort looks like it would be worth the $900 a month.
