C8.3 Designation

In looking at parts online for my engine nobody list C8.3 but they do list ISC.  From what I can see the ISC is the same engine but it is a electronic version.

Or is it a 6C8.3 for looking up parts?

According to my data plate, the "Marketing Model Name" is C8.3-300.  The "Service Model Name" is 6C8.3.  You ought to find one of those two designations in most parts listings.  I would not assume all ISC parts are a direct fit for your engine, even though a lot of the mechanical stuff might be interchangeable.

You have an engine serial number that is almost impossible to read. I had to take a photo with phone and then read from photos. ISC parts not to be trusted.

Try this link. Carefully clean curved data plate and shoot photo with phone using flash.
Our build numbers are close and my engine was manufactured in 1997.

Then go to Cummins Quickserve.

Thanks Chuck, the latest items I was looking at were a Fumoto valve and a Stinger.  I look at all sorts of things but never seem to see the 6C8.3 "LOL"

With a build number Foretravel can provide engine and trans serial numbers for those that can't make out the numbers on the engine. You may have to be a motorcade member. Not certain but think so. Won't be shot at for calling and not a member but get more info with membship.
