Ac Power

My buddy who does my systems work thinks that the power watch meter is only connected to one leg of the coaches electric system.  He wondered if any of the other wires in the area where the panel and amp meter are located has the other legs ac power.

He would like to upgrade the power watch and maybe the amp meter to show both legs.

But then again as I type this the amp meter does switch to monitor the both legs.  It would seem both legs are present would it not?  Duh

He thinks that the amp meter is using induction donuts over the main wires and sends the amp signal to the 12 volt meter.  No ac.

Anyone run across this and access both legs somewhere?

What amp meter are you talking about, is it the remote display of a hardwired Progressive Industries EMS? If so, both legs are present because that is how the 50A version is wired and the display being connected by data cable doesn't imply that both legs are present in the AC near the EMS remote display. I put my remote display next to the OEM Powerwatch which only shows one leg, not sure how the coaches that have the Powerwatch meters that show both legs are configured, but there was only the one leg avaiable in the cubby where the coach information panel is located in our coach, a 99' U270.

Edit: The Powerwatch meter on ours is plugged into a regular surface mount outlet which has one leg on the shore power via a single Romex cable. The remote displays for the Progressive EMS cycle through volts and amps for each leg in turn. I like the OEM Powerwatch for the continuous analog display of the voltage. It would be nice if it had two displays like the ones I have seen on later year coaches, but it is still worth keeping as is.
