Four week Trip

We're Hooked! We bought our coach in late fall last year, winterized it and took it for exercise once a month. I retired in April, we made two trips to Texas, one for a Brett Wolfe inspection and another for some maintenance and new tires. Finally we were ready for our first "real" trip! We loaded up the dogs, which was their first trip as well and headed east to visit family. First stop was in Searcy Arkansas for snaking window repairs, more on that experience in another post. Second stop was Montgomery Bell State Park just west of Nashville, stayed 5 rainy days however had some great visits with my Son. Next on to Kingsport Tn to visited Daughter, Son-n-law and Grandkids, we stayed at Warrior Path State Park. While there we drove over to Beech Mountain, rode the chairlifts to the top and had a look at Grandfather Mountain from there.
Left Kingsport for Murrayville GA via North and South Carolina, gained some experience with mountain driving through Sams Gap, the Allison and Cummins were unbelievable to this newby, what a fine piece of machinery. In Ga. we stated at Don Carter State Park. Back through Nashville and Searcy on the way home. We had a great time, the dogs did great, the Coach performed well and we cant wait for the next trip!

Sounds as if you had a great trip! We consider our U320 to be our "cabin on wheels" and really enjoy it for these types of trips.

I concur with your excitement. We finished a 9 month USA tour last June and are about to start a two week trip to Oshkosh, Wisconsin for EAA Airventure.

Our Foretravel did great and was quite a comfort during the ice, rain and wind storms. There were no mechanical breakdowns.

It's hard work managing such a big beast, but worth it when you consider it's a high-quality house on wheels.

We purchased our first coach ('93 U225 36") in November of 2007, I think. I was kinda rough, so it took a while to address some mechanical issues, but the next summer I scrounged a bunch of vscation and we made a 5 week, 5000 mile loop around a good bit of the country. It was a somewhat unreal bubble of reality, as we had not even a burned out lightbulb to deal with. Most fun we had ever had in our lives!  Later that year Jeff says to me,"You know how I have a really hard time in the winter." (He suffered from Seasonal Affective Disorder) "After the Holidays, I am planning on taking the coach and going south for the rest of the Winter ... and I really hope that you come!"  ???????

I retired in a hurry and we left just after New Year's Day 2008.  By 2010 we had sold our home and began full timing. I would still be doing that, if circumstances allowed.  But we are grateful for EVERY day that we were given to enjoy that lifestyle.

You are JUST getting started!!!  YAY!!

I can't find any reason I would not trust my 89 to do the same. KISS diesel power train hi, I think Protech has logged a boatload of miles on his towing a pretty good sized trailer.
