Compressed air line unused???

U270, behind the rear axel below the H&H six pack there is an air tank. Above the air tank there are a lot of air lines and one hangs down over the tank. This pipe is not connected to anything in the area, H&H bent it over and wire tied it to reduce the air leaking from it, I have now capped it off.
Leveling works
Brakes and retarder work
Air horns work
Entry step and cover work
Any idea what it might have been for or more to the point what it should be connected to?

The tanks back there by the rear axle is probably the "wet" tank. Right past where you capped the line is a label wrapped around the air line.  What number is is?

Your FT book should have an air system schematic in it for reference.  My wet tank doesn't have as many fittings.

Hi Roger
Unfortunately just a piece of masking tape
Not one of the numbered lines
I cannot get up higher along the line before it disappears
Just thought it may be there for some add on I do not have

Do you have a rubber hose with a quick disconnect in a atorage compartment? Our 1995 has one connected to the wet tank.

Might have been the air pressure supply line for a towd braking system, which was later removed by a prior owner?

Oops!  A bad guess mine was...see below.  :(

It is unlikely that it comes from the toad airline. The air brake system on toads usually come off the brake air line and not the wet tank, so that the brakes are only on when the brakes are pressed and are proportional with brake pedal pressure.

Just a wild guess but maybe they had an air gauge there to help diagnose air leaks.
