'94 HWH leveler question

We have a 94 U240 Grand Villa.  The Right Rear leveler jack stopped functioning, but all the rest work as they should.  I have looked at all the wiring and connectors at the manifold and the leveling jack. but all look fine. I am thinking the issue may very well be one  the electro mechanical solenoid on the main pump manifold or possibly the sensor on the RR leveling jack.  I looked under the dash for the control box but its not there as far as  can tell.
I called HWH and their help line is booked solid for weeks.  Called Foretravel help (James is on vacation) and pretty much was told to take it to a shop.
My question to those in the know, 1. is there a test I can perform to troubleshoot.  2. can the solenoid at the manifold be replaced by itself, or does the whole unit need to be replaced ? 3. Where is the HWH control box located?  I do have the wiring/hydraulic diagrams that came with the RV...

Thanks

Steve

Steve,

Welcome to our group!  We spend a lot of time around here "chatting" about various HWH leveling systems, so your questions are not a surprise.  You must understand, however, that there are not as many members with leveling jacks as there are with air bag systems, so you might need to be patient waiting for the right people to show up with helpful answers.

That said, let me suggest a few "first steps" that you can take.

1.  Identify your HWH system series number.  You may have some documentation with this info, or you could post a photo of your HWH control panel, and we can figure it out.  OR, check out the first link below.

2.  Once we know what system you have, we can locate the pertinent Owners Manual or Service Manual for that system.  These are almost always available online.  HWH manuals contain very nice trouble shooting flow charts that can help pinpoint and correct common problems.

I will add a few links below to get you started:

Chuck Thanks
It is the 610 system and I do have all the manuals and diagrams to go with the system.  Unfortunately there are no trouble shooting guides in what I have to work with.  One issue is I can not find the control box itself. Foretravel tech said it is probably the ceiling of garage D2 or D2 but its not there. I know there are fuses for each Solenoid on this control box and it would really help if I could find and check those fuses.  I suspect if it is just a blown fuse that is easy fix. If I replace a blown fuse and it blows again I would suspect a bad electro/hydraulic solenoid to be the issue.  I did find HWH replacement parts and can purchase a single solenoid..... however having been an aircraft mechanic I hate to buy parts to just throw at a problem then find it was not the issue.....
I am patient and fortunately am not stuck someplace on a trip....... it is safely home in the driveway.

I have a '94 and the control box is located on the wall right next to the insulation that covers the generator air intake box in the compartment right behind the generator itself. Mine is a 280, though.

Steve, firstcheck if the ground wire is still attached to the cylinder of faulty jack, and, make sure it is a good connection. Is there anything that may be restricting all movement of cylinder, can you pull it down by hand to the vertical position?
Check at the hydraulic pump to see if that solenoid is working and the tee handle can be opened and shut.
Identify the correct hose by che king the number one hose at pump and cylinder.

Wiring seems to all be good (at cylinders and solenoid) and there is no restriction in movement of the cylinders.

Yeah, I found the control box, its under the couch and of course, the fuses are facing toward the outside of the bus and not readily worked on.....

HWH has a Face Book forum; they have been very quick to answer when I had kick-down questions. ^.^d

I'd think it's the solenoid, one of ours was replaced a while ago. FYI: put some info down below in the 'sig' section, including your build #, it sure helps when questions/comments come up. Welcome!  ^.^d

Thank you everyone. I ordered a solenoid, changed it out and problem is solved.  FYI I ordered the solenoid through Foretravel, (they had it in stock) because HWH is a bit difficult.
