12 volt circuit for house a/c’s

Is there a specific circuit for the 12 volt dc that goes to the roof air conditioners, and can it be turned off?  If so, how would I do it?
Thanks, Mike

It should come off the self resetting breaker #52 that is hid behind the kick panel on your age coach. Double check your B-2197 print to be sure. You will have to lift a wire off the breaker. That breaker is on the live buss not effected by the salesman switch.

When you mention 'salesman switch',, are you referring to the master switch on left side of entry steps?
Also, I don't seem to have a B-2197 schematic.

Mike,

I had to get our grandson to go pull my prints so it took a while.  According to my print for our coach it is breaker #52 that feeds the A/C controls with 12VDC.  There will be 2 wires that come off that breaker 108 and 108A. The one for the A/C will be 108 the other wire(108A) goes to the step controls.

So what I need to do is remove the two wires off the post, #108 and #108a?  What about the Master on-off switch by the entry steps; can I just down all of the power with that switch?

1.  You may need to remove both depending on if 108 is below the 108A wire.  If 108 is on the top then just take it off.
2. The buss that has breaker #52 is not on the "Master on-off" switch by the door.  This buss is has several things on it that needs power all the time.  When you turn off the "master on-off" the A/C units still run because they still have 12VDC even with the master off. Hope that is clear as mud. That buss is fed through a non self resetting breaker in your basement behind that fiberglass cover.

To clear that buss out you have to unhook the coach battery ground. I guess you could trip that breaker in the basement by shorting it out to ground BUT (BIG BUT) I wouldn't recommend doing that as that ain't the way to do something like this.

Ok.  Thanks for the help.  Do you happen to know if that schematic is available somewhere on the forum?
Thanks, Mike

Seems like someone has loaded that 2197print but will have to look around and see if I can find it.

Chuck,

Thanks for finding that print. I knew that there was on that was close to ours.  That is the new version with the print  number  of 2179.  That is very close to what we have with our 2197 print.  I don't know when they changed those print numbers but it would have been better if they had used a complete different number rather than just changing 2 of the last numbers.

This print still shows breaker #52 as the one with wire #108 being the feed to the A/C controls.

Oops, I didn't even notice the print number was different.  I just opened it up and saw the breaker #52 and the wires were the same as what you mentioned, so I thought it was the right print.  Close, but no cigar...

When I replaced my two AC units, I left the 12 volt wires on and just taped off the wires while working. That said, if you wanted to be totally safe, you could just remove all DC power from your rig.
