Valve for Ice Maker

I picked up my kitchen faucet today so while I am under there I need to replace this as it has since broken.

I have found some replacements but they look the same and I was wondering if anyone can see what I am missing.

Also will this work with my PEX plumbing?

valve 1

valve 2

Steve,

What is broken on that valve?
Is the handle is just spinning on the stem?
If the body is good and not cracked you could just pull the stem out and replace with a new stem.
Here is what you need to replace the stem and packing nut. This should be a direct replacement.
Icemaker Valve 1/2 PEX x 1/2 PEX x 1/4 OD

If you decide to go this way shop around for the best price.

Thanks Mike, I took the picture when I started to turn the water off with it and found it was very hard to turn so I put on my gloves and snapped the handle off.

I have looked around the metroplex here and nobody has a valve even close to it that I can rob the stem out of and I would like to have one before I leave Thursday. I do have a Granger about 10 miles away and they have a distribution center in Dallas so they can normally have things the next day.

If you just want a valve to turn the water off, cut the 1/4" line and put a valve in there.

Just a warning.  I used a valve exactly like that on my fifth wheel because it was available at Lowe's and the old valve was leaking.  It takes a LOT of TORQUE to turn the valve.  The brass valves are much easier to turn on and off.  It's an important valve because the ice maker water supply runs outside and I have to turn it off and drain it in the winter.  If I hadn't bought the Foretravel, I would have replaced it with the brass valve.  It would probably be ok if it was mounted to the wall and not just hanging free like that.

Lowe's makes a 1/4 turn valve that you can put in with compression ring, the one pictured goes to water filter but they stock one like it with a 1/4" fitting for ice maker. They also stock one that is shark bite(brass)  for pex tubing. Others may have different opinion but I have not had good luck using pvc valves, I now will only use brass or chromed brass
