New bladder no new manifold.

Just had our LR bladder replaced at MOT.

I was told that we did not need a new air bladder manifold as our system is a timed system.

I had heard that ALL new bladders require a new manifold.

Guess I was wrong again.  :)

Maybe previous owner replaced (manifold)?

My 02 had to have it.

It has to do with the old bladder rest stage being flat and the new one resting more in the inflated position.  Some coaches 2002 up were having trouble triggering the vacuum sensor or something like that.  Can't remember the details.  I would want HWH as the final word.

If I'm wrong someone will know.

If I remember correctly it was a new vacuum venturi? maybe? Didnt matter to me to much as when I talked to HWH they comfirmed all new bladders had to have the new manifolds

We replaced a bladder on our 02 - no new manifold then either.

The design of the new bladder is different.

Must be a difference some where????

I'm need to get my torn slide seal replaced in Nov.  Curious what's the current bill for it @ MOT?  Moscow or Nac worth the extra miles?  Woody.

Our 160" bladder including adhesive and other ancillary parts was:  $1768.00 plus a bunch of labor.  Did not require the new air manifold which saved us $ 700.00+.

The MOT original Estimate was: $4500.00.  We paid, including a discount, a bit more.  We also had a couple of other things addressed.  I think each install is a bit different.  The adhesive removal was difficult and took extra time to remove and prep for new.  Our couch and pantry also had to be removed and re-installed.  Most times there were 2 guys working on our coach sometimes 3.

Our coach was pulled in the bay at 8AM on Tuesday.  The crew finally went home at 6:30 that night.  We spent the night in the coach in site 25 and we pulled out of MOT about noon on Wednesday.

The paid price was more than anticipated but at the end of the day MOT does a good job, they were able to sneak us in and complete the job promptly.

We have replaced two bladders, one in our 2002 and one in our 2001.  This is not something that we looked forward to but it is part of owning a coach with slide bladders.

As stated in another post, Eric at MOT did a great job in getting us in and completing the job in a "short" period of time and getting us on the road again.

Also thanks to Keith R and Clyde.
