A/C Wall Control

Looks like I left my wall control with both A/C zones on, but with the bottom switch off. I plugged in to 30 amp service. I flipped the bottom switch on, but before I could cycle through and turn off one unit, looks like I zapped the T-Stat wall control.  Unplugged it and let it set a while, plugged it back in and it worked for a while but died again.

Screen now blank, but rear unit is working ? , but nothing on the screen. Weird !  Anyhow, was able to get a new one overnighted and will replace tomorrow.

Anyone else ever have that happen?  I know I was told to always have the switch off when plugging in or starting the generator. Lesson learned 😕

I doubt that caused it.  Try killing all 12v to the controller (will salesman switch do that?)    There is a fuse under the top cover on that back unit that I thought had blown on ours in a similar situation but the fuse was good.  After I put it back in the whole system had reset and worked.

30 amp service will generally not run two air conditioners, it will also burn up the plugs on a 30 amp cord,

Rick, do you mean a fuse on the back A/C unit ?  I only have one controller for both units that is located on the wall just to the left above the drivers seat.  There is not a separate controller for the back A/C  on my unit. I didn't see any indication of a fuse on my controller?

The controller you mentioned is the thermostat, or CCC.  The controller is a circuit board in either an external control box or incorporated into the a/c unit itself, as the old duotherm penguin.  There is a fuse on the circuit board.
