Clearance lights

When I did a pre-inspection survey with Brett, one of the things he mentioned was replacing the clearance light reflectors. Since I am redoing the front cap inside, I thought it would be a good idea to replace the clearance lights. I didn't want to just put in new reflectors and new bulbs so I went with LED ones. I'm glad I did because they weren't a lot worse shape than I thought they were. When I removed them which was pretty difficult as they were stuck onto the gel coat, there was water inside them. and the plastic was pretty deteriorated.
I put in Grote LED clearance lights. They look really good. I had to slightly enlarge the hole with a dremel tool to get them to fit well. I'll have to clip the ends off the wires and to splice connection. I will be adding some sound insulation and heat insulation so I wanted to make sure that this was done before that.
Part number 47733 find it parts.com
I paid $18.33 cheapest on the net I could find.

Did the screw holes line up as per original?

Its finditparts.com. was pretty beat at the time.
Screw holes lined up perfectly. Just the hole was a bit tight. Dremel took care of that. Have to reuse the screws but they were good. Comes with a new gasket.
Going to do the entire coach with them, front back and sides. Will last another 20 years or more.

I am also in the middle of replacing my clearance light. The center three on the nose were cracked and falling apart as I removed them.  I ordered the same Grotes lights for front & back through vehicle safety supply.  They are very nice lights and the few I have done look great!  I added silicone to the screw holes & around the large hole, not sure if this was needed with the gasket?

The wires don't come out the center would need modification. Great price if you want to diy it.

I bought them and didn't like the way they are mounted, no gasket, barely covers hole in the coach behind the lights, and the screw holes don't match up. They would be an inexpensive way to replace the lights but I ended up getting the yellow ones from Foretravel. I will wait and get the remaining ones at a later date, my red ones all work and still look good, Someone found some that matched better here on the forum.
This is my two cents worth and may not even be worth that.

Last year I had FOT replace all of the amber lights with LED ones. They only had one red one and couldn't get the other six in time. Since those were relatively easy for me to do, I decided that I'd do them myself.  I could have done the side amber ones, too, but since they already had their nice scaffold in place I let them finish that part of the job. The five lights over the windshield are a royal pain to change because of the windshield slope. (Remember that I've got a Grand Villa.)

I bought a set of amber and red from Amazon because that was the cheapest way to get red lights that matched the amber ones FOT installed. One of the other Care-A-Vanners wanted some of the amber ones that I didn't need, so I gave her what she wanted. I think I still have one or two of one or the other floating around here someplace.

Those Summit lights look really good and a great price!  The Grotes lights totaled up to $220. More than I wanted to spend but they have been extremely easy to install.  The ones over the windshield were not as bad as I expected.  Would have been a lot easier with scaffolding!

The Grotes are pretty nice lights. Changing them for me not a issue at all. Used my 3 way ladder. A couple of repositions but it took about 2 hours with the Dremel tool and cleaning off the old gasket material.
