2008 Nimbus In-Motion Satellite System with 2 receivers

We are looking for some help. 

1)  Our new-to-us coach has a DirecTV in-motion satellite system.  We use DISH.  Has anyone "converted" the system?  Is it possible?  If not, it's not a big deal because we have our portable DISH system that we purchased to use in our old coach.

2)  Hubby has not been able to find the splitter for this DirecTV system...so he hasn't been able to connect our DISH antenna using the existing TV cabling.  In the meantime, he has "gerry-rigged" our Winegard Pathway X2 antenna's cable into the coach...through a window which obviously, is not a good long-term solution.  Anyone know where this splitter is located??? 

Our Winegard Pathway X2 has 2 cable connections so it will work with 2 receivers...just need to know where that splitter is and if it will work with DISH.  It would be nice if we could use the existing cabling but so far, nada.

I forgot to mention that our floorplan has the TV located D/S in the middle of the coach...not up front.

Any other tips?

Yes,I can tell you there is a ton of hardware, some in behind the cabinet by the TV. The trac star system they used, is out of business.
I actually tried a Dishnet receiver, after stripping out the DTV electronics, and it wouldn't lock on and stay on the satellite.
Ended up removing it, and installing a Winegard traveler.
Those dishes used one coax wire. After you remove the old DTV hardware, you can use a one wire Dishnet dome in-motion (road trip T4), and it will work with few difficulties

For your "temporary hook" up do you not have a "park cable" input connector in the area where your water fill and dump valves are?
(I do not have the same coach, but most come with park connections)

Yes, thanks...it has a "park" connection.  That's what we used in our old coach however, this coach has a splitter located somewhere before that.  We need to find the splitter.  The cable does work from the park connection into the coach but something is stopping it before that.  Hopefully, that makes sense.  Sigh.

Unsure about your model but our U270 has a switch box located Where the dvd is located to change from dvd to cable/antenna. The cable and antenna wires went through a splitter behind our tv before entering the switch box.
If no one knows and you are a motorcade member give the factory a call.

As I said, there are a ton of electronics behind the cabinet next to the left of TV. The screws have to come out of the panel to get to them.
The out side cable hookup, goes through a couple of things, before it hits the TV.
Those coaches have a ton more electronic in them.
It's not going to be easy

You will likely find more than one splitter.  IIRC in our 2003 when we redid the A/V wiring, there were a couple up in the driver's overhead (both left side and front behind the cabinet panels) AND one down behind the wet bay wall.

What's likely stopping the signal from the park connection is the splitter used for it doesn't pass power or the right frequencies for satellite; it's designed for cable.

Regarding swapping from DirecTV to Dish, usually this involves an LNB change (the thing on the end of the dish arm).  Definitely if it's a multi-LNB; single LNB dishes sometimes have DIP switches or other programming to allow them to change which satellites they look for.  For those with a Winegard Trav'ler open dish, it's fairly easy to swap LNBs and control for this going from DirecTV to Dish.  Unless things have changed in the last couple of years, it is NOT possible to go the other way (Dish to DirecTV) with a Trav'ler if the original dish was for Dish - the turret/internals will not support a DirecTV LNB.
