Linking a reply

How were you able to do that.
Open to training!

Texhub,

Here is a short tutorial
1. If you want to link a reply (from another thread)  you put your cursor over "REPLY #X" and left click.
2. This action will change the last number on your https address bar.
3. Place cursor over https and right click.
4. This action should bring down a drop box that has "copy" as one of your actions.
5. Left click on the copy action.
6. Go back to the thread you want to add this info in the new reply.
7. Left click on "reply" as you normally would and start typing your thoughts.
8. When you get to where you want to add the link right click and you will get the drop down box with the "paste" option.
8a. like this Remove holding tanks
10. Before you hit post look at the "Preview" action to make sure that all is as you want.
11. Hit "post" and you are done.
12. Or that is how I do it.

I put this here rather than in the instruction manual side but if someone want to move it there that is good also

Great tutorial!  We'll leave it here for a bit.

Another trick that I only just learned in the last few months - the hotkey shortcuts for Copy-Paste, at least in Chrome.

Once you've highlighted what you want to copy (like the URL in your web browser), hold down CTRL and click "c" - this copies to the clipboard.

Go to where you want it pasted and left click to put the cursor there.  Hold down CTRL and click "v" - this pastes the contents of the clipboard to that point.

Something I didn't understand for a long time, but finally figured out: Every thread AND every individual post in the Forum has a unique "address".

If you want to link to a complete thread you navigate to the first page of the thread and then right click/copy the address in the "address bar" on your computer.  Then paste where you want it.

If you want to link to a specific post within a thread, you just right click/copy the post name (for instance "Reply #18").  Paste where you want it.

It is easier on other readers to direct them to a specific post, rather than making them read through one or more pages of a long thread to get to your "target" post.

This works on almost every application out there on windows. Also works on mac but it's Cmd-c & Cmd-v instead. Sorry tablet & cell phone users. Copy/paste on those is a PIA!!!

Happy Holidays!
