Hydraulic Reservoir Gasket Information

Greetings.

I see a little oil at the engine compartment vent, at the upper drivers side.  After lifting the compartment door I found the round hydraulic reservoir had oil on it's top and around the clamp.  After reading the forum, I am confident it is likely time to change the gasket.

I have a 2001, U270 with the Cummins 350.  I have seen posts which include a replacement gasket part number.  Is the gasket common to most coaches?  I haven't noticed that a different gasket is required for the different engine options.

I would appreciate any insight.  After a 650 mile trip, the amount of oil was very minimal.

Thank you.

I just checked recent service records.  The shop has a line item showing the "O-Ring" as being replaced along with the filter and oil top-off.

Anything to worry about?  Maybe clamp not installed correctly? Maybe overfilled oil?

If the top gasket is new, tighten up the banjo bolts.  Assume the lid is on straight and gasket not damaged.

Probably take 5 minutes to clean it REALLY WELL, and take it off the check.

Often the surfaces the gasket mates to are very rusted.  They need to be cleaned very well, like with a wire wheel, then repainted before the gasket will seal.
